Traditional Chinese Medicine
Under the lead of professor generations of Professor Hu Jie, Professor Li Zongxin and Professor Huang Xiaobo, the department of traditional Chinese medicine of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University is closely around the key research direction of neural science and geriatric medicine. After 60 years' efforts, it has gradually become a comprehensive development department of medical, teaching and scientific research. We have a team of doctors and masters with strong technical force and reasonable echelon structure. The team members are aspiration for the development of traditional Chinese Medicine. Now, there are 16 in-service medical staffs, including 7 senior titles.
In order to give full development to the advantages of department of Traditional Chinese Medicine in general hospitals and to reflect the characteristics of treating senile and neurological diseases in Xuanwu Hospital with combination of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. In 1999, it became the first batch of Beijing Demonstration Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine for general hospitals. By 2001, the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine led joint pharmacology Laboratory, department of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine group of Neurology, Department of emergency treatment group of Neurosurgery and other departments, has successfully applied for Neurology Key Disciplines of Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine. It has laid a solid foundation for the overall development and discipline construction of the department, and has injected new vitality into it.
The prevention and treatment of this subject to senile nervous system diseases, such as cerebrovascular disease and Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, sleep disorders and intractable epilepsy, as the research focus. The aim is to improve and enhance the quality of life of patients, reduce family and social burden, and achieve healthy aging.
The department of Traditional Chinese Medicine adopts comprehensive treatment methods with TCM characteristics, such as oral administration, topical application, acupoint application of Chinese herbal medicine, ion introduction of Chinese Medicine and so on. A number of new technologies and new businesses have been developed for the treatment of geriatric and neurological diseases. The department used the transcranial magnetic stimulation of brain function therapy apparatus to assist the treatment of ischemic cerebrovascular disease, neurosis (anxiety, neurasthenia, insomnia, brain fatigue and other symptoms) and brain injury diseases. The department carried out mental state examination, mental assessment, and fatigue test and so on.
In Xuanwu hospital, the department of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the teaching and research section of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the first clinical medical college. In addition, the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine is also the director of the joint teaching and research section of Chinese medicine and the training center for doctor of clinical medicine and master of Chinese medicine. It is responsible for the theoretical and practical teaching tasks of the International College of Capital Medical University, doctoral graduate, Master graduate, seven year system, undergraduate, night University, special promotion and foreign students.
The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a national comprehensive hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine work demonstration unit, Beijing city of integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine for the elderly disease research institute. In recent years, it has undertaken many scientific research projects at the national, provincial, ministerial and local levels. The Department has published hundreds of papers in core journals and SCI journals, and published many monographs. Professor Huang Xiaobo has served as editor in chief of the "12th Five-Year" General Higher Education National Planning textbook "Chinese medicine" (Second Edition and Third Edition) of the Ministry of education and has won 2 scientific research achievements, won 1 national new drug certificates and production certificates, and 3 national invention patents.
